From 1350, the Bichot family was established in Burgundy, with a deer as a symbol. It is only in the XIXth century that the family gets in to the wine business, when Bernard Bichot foundsin 1831 a wine brokerage. The family heritage will be passed down from father to son until now. Since 1996, Alberic Bichot has represented the 6th generation to run the House.
"Since the late 1990s, Bichot has emerged from the doldrums in startling fashion. 2004 saw Bichot elected Winemaker of the Year by magazines in both England and France, and the wines go from strength to strength." There are also some fine individual estates within the Bichot portfolio, including Domaine Long-Depaquit du Pavillon and Domaine du Clos Frantin.
